Temptation itself is not a sin. Even Jesus was tempted. It's what we give into that creates the actual sin.
Some can be tempted and walk away. Some, give into temptation in the moment, a one-time mistake. Others, temptation fills a nagging void and becomes a pattern, then addiction, getting locked into a sin.
We were planned, before birth, by God: “For you created my inner being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).
God made you special. You are not random. Every fiber of your being was mapped out and planned before we were born! Just imaged that! The Creator of the Universe designed you, special, uniquely, perfectly! Every event in your life, your triumphs, your hurts and struggles, He knew them all and has a perfect plan for you. Even when it seems impossible to see it, He is there, longing to help you on the path He has made for you.
We were made in God’s image to worship and serve Him (Genesis 1:26).
Not only were we thought of and designed by the Creator of the Universe, we were created in His Image, Huh? You mean to tell me I am the image of God? Yes! Made in His image. When looking in the mirror, knowing our own thoughts, sins and hang-ups, it's hard to imagine, but His promise to you is that He designed you, in His image, making you perfect. You have an amazing purpose. You were hand crafted in the Image of the God who created everything! Wow!
We are the workmanship of the Maker (Psalm 138:8).
By grace through Jesus Christ we have been saved, not by our own deeds; “for we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Right this very moment, Jesus is calling for you. He knows your pain and struggles. He was tempted just as you were and overcame, He can help you overcome those temptations, today! He longs to renew your mind, healing you of the hurt and trauma and map out a new plan, addiction free. He loves you so very much!
Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete. (Romans 12:2)
